Mahalo( the other awesome search engine)

Today,  in this world it seems people have become so thickheaded about search engines and software in general. Civilians prance around proclaiming” Oh, I will Google that or this when I get home to my well- furnished apartment.”              Her is a tidbit to live by; never grant obedience to those who are to careless to be concerned! Do not be intimidated by Google or Yahoo or even Windows live( I know, you are probably shocked that MS does not have a monopoly on the search industry)  The best way to browse the web is instinct.                Mahalo. What is it? Mahalo is a human search engine. Following the  failed venture of sites like ask jeeves,( now called ask.com) Mahalo presents the user with a streamlined interface. Here is where it gets interesting; when you enter a searchquery on mahalo, you will get a top seven search UI. Each of these results were painfully entered by an employee. What this means is rather then having spam enriched results and being linked to bad websites, Mahalo pre filters everything. What is the downside? Well, we must remember that a human being must create these results. So, not everything entered will come up. Luckily, when this happens Mahalo automatically redirects the search into a compiled engine that includes all of the major search engines. For example, when you enter “Pnewb” mahalo calls upon this compiled search UI because it has not yet register our site. We must give the great folks at mahalo some time to recognize our site.. A you probably guessed, this is my pick of the week.
