The TRUE Origin of the Peace Symbol

Many people today blatently use the “Peace Symbol” as a symbol for general peace. All who do this are totally ignorant and out of line. The true origin of the peace symbol comes from the Campaign for Nuclear for Disarmament, which was formed in 1958. The campaign was based in England, and was a huge success right from the start, the doors of the meetingplace were filled to the brim to the point where people would stand in the street just to participate in the anti-nuclear movement. The symbol truely spread though, during the Aldermaston Marches of 1959, and 1960. Around 80,000 people participated in each of these marches, and the ultimate destionations were Traflager Square in London, and Aldermaston Nuclear Weapons Base. The protesters were very effective in voicing their cause, and influenced governments such as the Soviet Union and the US to create the Partial Test Ban Treaty, the Nuclear Non-Proliferation treaty, and the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty. I’m just writing this aricle so you know that whenever you use the “Peace” sign, you support nuclear disarmament.
